Angel Food Ministries
Our first AFM delivery day will be August 28. If you would like to drop by and see what is going on please feel free. Also if you have signed up to help please remember that day. Volunteers should arrive at the church at 7:00 and plan to be here until 11:00. I will be going to Terre Haute with a couple of men to pick up our first deliver about 6:00 a.m. Pickup time at the church is from 9:00 – 11:00. One of our missions is to give a big friendly welcome to people as they come for their food. So you can come and just say hi if you would like to.
As of this moment 30 orders for 64 boxes have been received - which is wayyy more than we had expected! Thank you Lord for this blessing, and for the joy of being a blessing to others!
If you plan to be a volunteer this month, stay after church for a few minutes Sunday for some last minute details.
Hymn Sing!
Hasn’t it been kinda fun to start off our worship time with singing favorite hymns? Thanks again to Janis Wilson for being willing to play. We will do it again this week - be ready to call out your favorite song at 10:07.
Financial News
Here is some good news that I know will make many of you happy. Because your giving has allowed us to, and because we are very careful with our money management, we have sent (as of July 31) $4,895 to the Conference and $686 to the District toward the greater ministry of our church.
Help the Youth
We have an urgent need for adult help on Wednesday nights this fall. Right now we have NO ONE to lead either children or youth ministry for our Wednesday Nite Live program. Is this really the way you want it to be at your church!?!?!? That we take no interest in our children anymore? It is only an hour a week. Maybe you can even team up with someone to help. PLEASE - call Pastor Paul right away.
Grief Recovery Group
Al Tucker and Dixie Wilson will be leading a wonderful 8-week group to deal with grief, no matter what the source. Please mention this group to anyone you know who has gone through a loss. This would be very beneficial. It starts on Monday September 27 at 7:00.
Rummage Sale
Denise is inviting everyone to clean the closet or garage and make contributions to the Rumman Sale she would like to have by the end of September. Call Denise if you have questions.
Coming this Sunday
WHAT A QUESTION !!! Here I am – caught up in one verse again. I really can’t say why, but this question just leaped off the page at me. Maybe because there is something in this question that God wants me to think about? Tell ya what - I will just give you the verse – and why don’t you look up the question. Then give it some deep thought. What is God trying to say to me in just one verse? Luke 24:5
If you get here by 10:07 - you can join in a fun time of singing some favorite hymns for a few minutes. Watch around for the smiles you see in the faces of the people around you.
